It's been a while since I last updated this site so I thought I'd take time out of my *chuckles* busy work schedule and get to it.

I've updated my character sheet (see the Downloads page) allowing anyone with Adobe Acrobat Reader to save their character sheets! This means you won't have to keep several printed copies and re-enter everything each time you level and want to update your sheets. Instead, just click on 'Save a Copy' and name the sheet whatever you want. You can always come back here and download a blank copy if you ever overwrite your blank.

Also, I recently found out the guys that originally introduced me to Rifts and with whom I played my first role-playing game (Palladium FRPG) have opened up their own gaming shop in Provo, UT, called Sanctuary Games! They now do a Rifts® campaign session each Saturday at around 7:00pm to midnight if you're interested in playing with some great guys (one of my friends that owns the place, Dave, is GM'ing the campaign -- who was always my favorite GM... the campaigns were always entertaining and my sides usually hurt at the end of the night from all the laughing).

If you'd like to play in the Rifts® campaign, make sure to roll up a character beforehand and bring your printed sheets with you. Or you can show up an hour or two early and spend time with either Dave or Josh getting your character fleshed out before everyone shows up.

I have added a new section (Reading Supplements) to the Downloads page. I will post important sections from various books that have helped me to introduce new players to Rifts® and help guide them through the most important aspects of character creation. This is not to say that this information will include any sort of exhaustive lists already published by Palladium Books, Inc. You still need to go out and buy the Rifts® Game Master Guide (very handy) and the applicable World and Source books that will help you play in and build upon your Rifts® campaign. I will attempt to keep all of these supplements in the familiar (if not original) format found in the books, not only for consistency's sake, but so this material will be extremely familiar when looked up in the original books.

I am currently taking suggestions on further sections I should post here, remembering that this should be generic information based on the Palladium system, the Rifts® RPG, or role-playing in general, and should not be book-specific information. Feel free to email me.

This project started as a means to simply ease Rifts® character creation and come up with a clean, simple character sheet. However, after seeing the power to use a database to populate these sheets, it has become clear that writing a program to take you through the entire character creation process would be the next logical step. We hope this project will eventually lead to a place where we will not only be able create characters for the Rifts® Megaverse in a wizard-like (easy-to-follow step-by-step) process, but also where GMs and players could go to actually play a campaign, save their characters, etc. Here we would be able to provide GMs with the tools to not only have access to every aspect of their players' characters, but also be able to award experience points in any given gaming session in real-time, allowing characters to increase their level mid-game! Imagine not having to take over an hour in the middle of play to level a few characters and continuing play, or even having to wait after an adventure to reap the benefits of your experience... you could just pick any appropriate spells, skills, psionics, etc. that may apply to your character while everything else is automatically calculated for you (like your increased attacks per melee, range of spells, skill proficiency percentages, etc)!

Please be patient with us while getting this all together as we have jobs (and families) to keep! We'll also be working closely with Palladium Books (www.palladiumbooks.com) to ensure this community won't affect their business. We HIGHLY recommend completing your collections of Rifts® books and keeping up with the Rifter®. What's more, we're also huge fans of the Palladium Fantasy Role Playing Game® series, where we were first exposed to this incredible system. We've attempted to make these sheets compatible with all of the Palladium Megaverse, including Palladium FRPG®, though if we find enough interest, we may make a special edition for Palladium's non-MDC systems.

Thanks to Palladium Books for creating the greatest RPG system in the world! We're submitting our character sheet to them in the hopes that it becomes published in a future Rifter® issue (and who knows, maybe even a book). In the mean time, please enjoy our work in putting together this awesome character sheet.

Also, I'm looking forward to picking up the new Rifts® Ultimate Edition today, after I get off work! Hopefully this will simplify some particularly tricky game rules that I've been trying to code into the interface for the website (which, so far, is being coded in Java).
